A new 12-storey, 116 unit rental tower with luxury finishes built on the same site as an existing residential tower. With the existing tower to remain occupied through construction this provided some additional challenges to construction, particularly in the parkade. The new structure would extend the parkade to the full width of the site while also adding two additional levels for the new tower. Additionally the new tower’s occupancy was phased to open the parkade early. Finally, the whole site required interconnection of the buildings fire alarm systems with multistage evacuation.
