Project Summary

Combining resources from all departments, Bridge Electric pulled together the right team to meet the needs of the UBC Old Auditorium Renovation. For many electrical contractors, the prospect of renovating an 80 year old wood building with solid walls and floors and a “go live” date just 18 months after groundbreaking might be deemed an impossible goal. For Bridge Electric, the completion of the UBC Old Auditorium Renovation project merely represented another challenge, one that the team embraced from the outset and committed to making a reality.

This project required an extreme level of pre-planning before the new construction phase started to get system conduits/feeders to fit into the structure. Bridge Electric did significant interference planning to ensure it worked, looked good and did not compromise the structural integrity of the building. There was no room for error as many of the walls were solid Douglas fir.

The stature and significance of this project dictated that Bridge Electric paid high attention to detail and kept the team focused on a high quality end product.

As challenging as this project was, Bridge Electric can now add the UBC Old Auditorium to their list of successful projects completed ON TIME and on budget.
