Project Summary

The third building (out of four) in the Buchanan Complex to be renovated as part of the UBC Renew Project, in partnership with the Province of British Columbia. The 45,000 ft² building, spread over three floors, was constructed to achieve a LEED Gold certification. Block B contains 25 classrooms, 4 lecture halls, and 2 computer labs, all with integrated lighting audio-visual presentation systems.

The General Contractor was Scott Construction with Acumen being the Electrical Engineer. Interior demolition started in the fall of 2008. Asbestos abatement and seismic upgrades completed in the winter of 2009. Final completion was in the summer of 2009.
